How to measure your room.
Tape, a phone, ten minutes. We'd rather you over-order by one box than under-order by half a wall.
- 1.
Sketch the room from above.
Stand in a corner and draw a rough floor plan. Closets and doorways get their own little box on the side. You're after the shape, not the art.
- 2.
Measure each wall in feet, end to end.
Tape measure flush to the baseboard. Write each wall length on your sketch in feet (round to the nearest inch — we'll convert).
- 3.
Multiply length × width per rectangle.
For an L-shaped room, split it into two rectangles, measure each, then add. The result is your square footage.
- 4.
Add 10 % for waste.
Cuts, mistakes, future repairs. 10 % is the standard buffer — bump it toward 15 % for a room with lots of angles and cuts.
- 5.
Divide by box coverage.
Every box covers a specific square footage — listed on the product page. Round up. That's how many boxes you'll need.
